This simple tutorial is the perfect spring craft! Create a sweet tutu Easter basket with only a couple items.
This couldn't be easier... seriously!
I went to my local craft store and bought a set of two little baskets. I think I paid $3-4 for them. They don't need to be fancy at all. In fact, you may already have on of these laying around the house. The trick is to find one with holes along the top so you can thread the tulle through.
1. Gather your supplies. All you need is a basket, tulle, scissors, and a tape measure.
2. Measure your basket. Mine was about 4 inches tall. I cut a strand of tulle about 8" long and tested it out but I wasn't a big fan of that look. I cut another strand about 10" long and it looked great.
You can see that I created two baskets. The second basket was a bit smaller but I still used 10" strands. You can see the difference in the photo above to see how you prefer your tutu to look.
3. Fold a strand of tulle in half and thread the loop through the basket. But sure to start from the inside of the basket and thread outward like the photo shows. If you thread from the outside inward, your tutu won't lay down properly.
4. Continue around the basket. Some spots will be difficult, but using a crochet hook or another tool could help.
What little girl wouldn't love this?! Or use it as Spring decor to hold decorated eggs, candy, or other treats.
